The Pole-Star
Cold Black Earth

Lace Up Your Boots

When I first head them I got so stoked. It's such a rare find to hear a group of people mixing folk elements with punk and doing a great job at it. Trumpets, violins, acoustic guitars and more. The singer has such a great style very reminiscent of Peter Murphy at times, but is not overdone. Even reminds me of Flux of Pink Indians or Omega Tribe. More obvious influence would be Death in June for sure... Lyrics are fucking awesome and you can feel the angst of a Southern Records album seeping through. This should be a contemporary 2010's modern punk classic.

The Necks - Sex

Sex (55:59)

1989! I always get lost in this track and am in disbelief that this was recorded in 1989. I think that it sounds like it would have been recorded more recently, but I guess that's what makes this track so timeless. It's effortless rhythm is so basic that it's of the most complex. The art of entrancement at it's finest. Spellbound.
